Description

Data collection in marketing has become a very controversial tool over the past decade. Consisting of various methods, including surveys, cookies, email lists, website clicks, and online tracking to name a few, data collection has become intertwined with the marketing world. Many companies could not survive without it and in almost every instance it is being used for the benefit of the consumer. However, major data leaks and scandals have created a stigma against data collection and its dangers.

I will research if these benefits outweigh the dangers, arguing in favor of data collection. Using planned and targeted surveys along with interviews of marketing experts, I hope to find support for my argument and help eliminate some common misconceptions about data collection
