The Loyola Marymount University William H. Hannon Library is pleased to announce our sixth annual Undergraduate Library Research Award. The purpose of this award is to recognize and reward LMU undergraduate students whose research makes expert and creative use of the services, resources, and collections of the William H. Hannon Library to produce a scholarly or creative work. For 2012, a prize of $1,000 will be awarded to the first place undergraduate project, and $450 each to two honorable mentions.
Eligibility:
To be eligible for the 2012 Undergraduate Library Research Award, applicants must:
- Be currently enrolled at Loyola Marymount University as an undergraduate student in any class level. All disciplines are eligible. Groups and teams are not eligible; individuals only.
- Have completed and submitted an original research project for an LMU credit course during Spring 2011, Summer 2011, or Fall 2011. Works from Spring 2012 will also be considered, but the paper/project must be complete by the submission deadline. Revising and improving a previously submitted and graded research project is allowed and encouraged.
- Agree to contribute the project to the permanent collection of the Loyola Marymount University Library.

- If you have work that you and your professor feel meets this criteria, download and read the 2012 Application Procedures. This can be found under ULRA Submission Links in the sidebar.
- Download and read our Tips & Tricks for applicants! This can be found under ULRA Submission Links in the sidebar.
- Create a free account in Digital Commons (see link below).
- Completely fill out the Online Application Form (see link below).
- Ask the professor to whom you submitted the paper or project to write you a letter of support; your professor will email this letter to Jill Cornelio at jcornelio@lmu.edu.
Dates to Remember:
- Deadline: April 9, 2012 by 9:00am
- Winner notification: April 18, 2012
- Award Reception: April 24, 2012, from 5:00-6:00pm in the Von der Ahe Suite (Library, 3rd Floor)
