On September 25, 2017, the William H. Hannon Library hosted a "choral reading" of the book I Am Jazz, by Jessica Herthel and Jazz Jennings. This book about childhood and gender identity has been challenged due to its "depictions of a transgender child, explicit sex education, language and offensive viewpoints." Librarians and library staff were outside The Lair with free giveaways, including buttons, cookies, and t-shirts.
The choral reading was livestreamed on Facebook: Link to livestream
