It is estimated that in the year 2000, approximately 2.5 million undocumented youth under age 18 were living in the U.S. and each year, over 65,000 undocumented students graduate from U.S. high schools. This session provided an in-depth examination of the challenges facing undocumented students who seek a college degree. The panelists offered multiple perspectives through the lens of a college student, a former high school teacher, a public school administrator, and a university professor. Participants gained insight, awareness, and understanding into this complex and controversial social justice issue.
