Description

Dr. Rasmussen is the Sustainability Manager for LMU, as well as a part-time Lecturer. He is responsible for analyzing and reporting current sustainability data, and expanding multiple green initiatives at LMU including recent development of a campus community garden. He creates and implements programs, initiatives, and resources to promote campus awareness and visibility of sustainability issues, while also collaborating on sustainability issues with the community, and coordinating with sustainability leaders at other institutions. Prior to joining LMU, Dr. Rasmussen served as a State Scientist for the California Environmental Protection Agency's Integrated Waste Management Board. He is an adjunct instructor at Long Beach City College and Rio Hondo College and also teaches sustainability courses at LMU. Rasmussen earned his doctoral degree in Educational Leadership at CSU Long Beach, where his research was focused on sustainability in higher education.
