Riqueza Mexicana: Mama's Kitchen
Abstract
The land that artist Jasmine Reyna's parents left still runs through her veins, and the heartache that her parents endured while crossing the U.S./Mexican border serves as her motivation for success as a first-generation college student. Reyna's Mexican roots are deeply embedded in her, and she takes tremendous pride in exemplifying her heritage wherever she goes. This colorful art piece not only represents her parents, but those who continue to leave their homes in order to provide an education for their children while taking with them las tradiciones y la gran riqueza Mexicana.
