Abstract

During a trip to the Batey Baraguana, students from Loyola Marymount University had the opportunity to hear from four extraordinary young men about their experiences living in the Haitian migrant community. Centuries of colonial conflict inform the complex international relations between Haiti and the Dominican Republic, but “this group is an example to show the world that Haitians and Dominicans can work together” (Clarens Descorias, The Street Boys).
