Wake Up
Abstract
“What are the world issues that you care about? What is your “aids” today?” Inspired by Bill T. Jones, Kay Hampton, junior dance a psychology double major, noticed that many members of her generation were not responding to the world around them. She found that many of her peers had grown numb due to over-stimulation and the presence of social media. Theater major, Harold Lloyd class of 2019, created a spoken word piece with the prompt of compiling all of America’s issues. Hampton then created a dance selection entitled "Wake Up".
