Abstract
Often hailed as a landmark series for a range of innovations, I Love Lucy can also be seen as groundbreaking for how it assembled its production staff and established the vital role of television’s writer-producer. Miranda Banks explores the history of Lucy’s production and creative personnel, connecting it with key moments in establishing labor practices and production norms in the early days of television.
