Description
Literature lives in its discourse. Without the discussion among scholars and everyday people alike, the dynamic and powerful force that we know literature to be could not exist. The goal of any literature conservationist, then, is to contribute to that discourse. My goal is to honor F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby and explore my passion for poetry by writing a collection of poetry inspired by The Great Gatsby. Much analytical and critical discussion about the novel already exists, I will study these sources to find inspiration for my poetry. I will also study poetry in order to master the skills I will need to write such a work. I wish to add a creative piece of work to the discussion about The Great Gatsby to stand out among the analytical works and contribute to the revival of classics like The Great Gatsby.
