Description
There is little literature on director Edward Yang and his films. I look to study his final film, Yi Yi, in its structure (which is elliptical and reaction oriented, like many art cinema films), its formal elements (such as use of wide shots and long takes), and in comparisons to his other films, New Taiwanese Cinema films, and art cinema.
