Abstract
For my thesis I am writing a book of poems through my poetry class. I have already written three forms. I plan on analyzing poetic forms such as the ballad, sestina, elegy, and the villanelle to see how these forms help with the meaning and organization of the poem. As well as writing my own poems that follow these forms to see how the impact my writing as a poet. This is important because analyzing and copying the forms gives a better understanding of poetry and how it is working to accomplish its goal.
