Abstract
Different forms of art place audience members in different roles with respect to the style, medium, theme, and energy of the piece. My senior thesis project, a two-part work titled “Flourish/Fault”, will explore how the audience's experience changes when observing the same choreography in juxtaposing sonic/visual environments and performance mediums. “Flourish” is a dance film that thematically explores the sensation of being “in the zone” and its associated flourishing. “Fault” is a live stage piece that thematically focuses on feeling at fault and being less than worthy as a creative. Both works will be disseminated in Spring 2026, with “Fault” being performed at LMU Dance’s Senior Thesis Concert and “Flourish” being screened in late April.
