Libraries in support of service-learning in the context of higher education includes no less than this daunting challenge: addressing the distinctions and intersections among academic and community-based ways of knowing, while simultaneously assisting students and faculty to integrate them into an “actionable" whole. Nadinne will share what she has learned from her pioneering practice and veteran experiences in service learning along with personal reflections on why meeting the challenges of keeping our “eyes on the prize” of integrating libraries with service-learning is worth our commitment, imagination and innovation.
