Description
Justinia's Digest, printed in Paris, by Francois Renault. "An early Parisian printing of the complex code of current and ancient law, with extensive commentary and interpretation. The body of the work appears in double column Black Letter Latin text, with commentary surrounding the work in smaller type. This handsome edition is distinguished by the use of red ink in the titles and Unical capital letters, an attractive specimen of the new two-color printing technology then rapidly replacing the hand painted titles and initial letters of the earliest printed volumes."
