The First To Go Community provides a source of academic support for LMU students who identify as "first-generation college" (i.e., neither parent has earned a bachelor’s degree in the U.S.). The community introduces participants to a network of mentors drawn from LMU faculty, staff and alumni who are former first-generation college students themselves. Social and academic events are offered throughout the semester. First To Go is sponsored by the Academic Resource Center.
Writing Workshop presents First To Go students an opportunity to write and publish their own personal narrative under the guidance of professional staff.
