Revitalizing Instruction through Active Learning and Assessment

Abstract
This session will demonstrate and explore active instruction and assessment methods used successfully in instruction sessions at two Catholic academic libraries. None were quiet, none were passive, and all were engaging. Experienced librarians will share their favorite high and low-tech activities including Google Forms, the Cephalonian method, and Kahoot. Come prepared to use your phone and move! Learning Outcomes: Objective 1: The attendee will leave this session with... a knowledge of high and low-tech teaching methods and be able to successfully implement them. Objective 2: The attendee will leave this session with... understanding of two methods of assessing library instruction and the ability to employ a method.
