Description
Using the U.S. News & World Report list of exemplary Service Learning programs for the past 5 years, this presentation will report out on a research project that will survey leadership of both the library and service learning at each institution to inquire about existing and potential partnerships between the two units, and perceived barriers to such partnerships. Reporting the results of this study will highlight the current state of library/service learning partnerships, identify potential future partnerships, and articulate perceived barriers to partnerships from the perspective of both partners.

Joan Ruelle has served as the dean and university librarian at Elon University since 2012. Prior to coming to Elon, Ruelle was university librarian at Hollins University which received the ACRL excellence in college libraries award during her leadership.
