Description
This activity is designed to facilitate an active learning session on service learning program development and assessment in academic libraries. The activity will involve building out an assessment rubric based on Furco's Self-Assessment Rubric for the Institutionalization of Service-Learning in Higher Education.
The session will begin with a brief introduction to the components of a service learning program and the rubric. Then, in small groups, the participants will have an opportunity to create a draft for one dimension of a proposed rubric for academic libraries. Following this learning activity, participants will be invited to discuss the pros and cons of this approach.
