The inaugural "Cataloging Queer Library Issues: A Symposium in Honor of Walt 'Cat' Walker" took place on August 12, 2021. A link to the full schedule is below.

This virtual event highlighted various aspects of queer librarianship, including programs, projects, outreach, and initiatives, from areas of academic library and archives work.

Video recordings of the presentations are available on the LMU Library YouTube page.

This symposium was created in honor of Walt Walker. Walt, better known to friends as “Cat”, was a cataloger and activist, a long-time librarian at Loyola Marymount University, a notable member of ALA’s Rainbow Roundtable and of OLAC, and an editorial board member for the Homosaurus. In hosting this symposium, we wanted to honor these aspects and areas of Walt’s life and work.

Funded by the William H. Hannon Library at Loyola Marymount University. For additional information or questions, contact John Jackson at john.jackson@lmu.edu
