Code of Conduct

The William H. Hannon Library seeks to provide an environment in which diverse participants enjoy the company of colleagues in an environment of mutual respect. We are committed to providing a harassment-free environment for everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability, physical appearance, ethnicity, religion/spiritual beliefs, political beliefs, nationality, economic status, or other group identity.

We recognize a shared responsibility to create and hold that environment for the benefit of all. Some behaviors are, therefore, specifically prohibited:

  • Harassment or intimidation based on race, religion, language, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability, appearance, or other group status.
  • Sexual harassment or intimidation, including unwelcome sexual attention, stalking (physical or virtual), or unsolicited physical contact.
  • Yelling at or threatening any participant/attendee.

All participants are expected to observe the rules at all times. Participants asked to stop a hostile or harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately and may be exited from the symposium and blocked from returning at the discretion of the host.

Grievance Reporting: To report a grievance, contact the moderators using the Zoom chat module during the webinar to privately contact one of the symposium’s hosts (those individuals will be identified at the beginning of the event). Any chat logs pertaining to the grievance reporting will be deleted for confidentiality.
